Prophile

Born on December 5th, 1985.

On December 12th, 1990 my little brother Matthew was born.

Went to Ingleburn North Public School from ’91 to ’96. Skipped year 4 only to find I was still bored.

Went to Hurlstone Agricultural High School from ’97 to ’02.

Visited Disneyland in January 2003 with my Mum, Dad and Matt. A very nice experience, so sadly distant now. I’m the same and I’m totally different.

Went to the University of Sydney next. Did a Bachelor of Science (Advanced Mathematics) including an Honours year. My thesis was on “Primality Proving and Testing”. This is ’03 to ’06 we’re talking about.

Started a Masters degree in ’07. My quick wits allowed me to figure out that it wasn’t perfectly suited to me by mid-2010. Just three-and-a-half fuckin’ years 😉 Parallels a foray into musicals, including CATS (08), Miss Saigon (09), La bohème (10), Oklahoma (11) and now Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (11) due to be on in May. Have met a lot of interesting people to say the least.

Well, here I am at ACU. And then after a year I’m a qualified teacher. By which time my passion will have drowned in all the compulsory readings, theory, assignments, discussions and other strange activities that may or may not help one become a good teacher. JOKES!

Currently lay claim to the streets of mighty Mount Annan.

Heard of the three B’s of classical music? Well I’m more into the three P’s (whom are of course Poulenc, Prokofiev and Puccini).

Nolan and Pixar are untouchable. Spielberg, Kurosawa and Hitchcock aren’t too shabby either. M, The General, Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, Dumb and Dumber, Batman, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb and Ghostbusters are among my favourite movies.

I like Pixies, Wu-tang Clan, Arcade Fire, Mr. Bungle, John Coltrane, Death, Opeth, The Clash, The Beatles.

1984 and Dune are probably my favourite books so far.

Metal Gear Solid and Chrono Trigger are pretty good video games in my opinion.

I know nothing about visual arts so this aspect of my soul is currently void.
